Celebrations: Music in the Mountains
Since 1994, the Waterford Concert Series has been organizing memorable performances by first-class musicians in historic Waterford, Virginia. This season's artists included clarinetist Gervarse de Peyer, the Children's Chorus of Washington, and the unforgettable Guarneri String Quartet.
In celebration of the its 10th anniversary, the Concert Series hosted a "Music in the Mountains" gala, which took place on May 15th at Foggy Bottom Vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia. Guests to this black-tie affair enjoyed an intimate performance by local stars Rebecca Kellerman, Christopher Jones, Courtney Ross and accompanist Katerina Souvorova, after a four-course dinner catered by BasiKneads.
On November 14th , BasiKneads donated the food for a post-concert reception for the Series' Guarneri String Quartet concert. This performance was part of an international tour marking the 40th anniversary of the reknowned quartet. The program included works by Beethoven, Janacek and Mendelssohn.
